Speech and Drama
Mr. Madden is our school Speech and Drama teacher. We do Speech and Drama in our G.P. room, every Tuesday.
Last year we did a show called Carrig’s got Talent. All the classes took part in the show. The Fifth and Sixth classes did singing, dancing, poems and comedy. The Junior and Senior Infants did The Toyshop. Some of the children dressed up as Jack-in-the-boxes, soldiers, clowns, ballet dancers and princesses. They sang funny songs and danced as well.
First and Second classes did a funny show about The Gruffalo. There was an owl, a mouse and a snake who were the main characters. They told very funny jokes and acted very well.
Third and Fourth classes did Grease. It was brilliant. The two singers were fantastic. The boys wore black leather jackets with jeans and the girls wore blue hair bands, yellow t-shirts, pink skirts and white socks. They danced to all the Grease songs and the audience sang along with them. Fifth and Sixth did their show about “Ireland”. They had lots of flags and they wore all different jerseys. They had a lot of comedy, singing and poems. They sang the National Anthem and everyone joined in. We all had to put on make-up (including the boys).
